About Dark Web Explained
This site exists because most of what ranks for dark web questions is either alarmist, out of date, or quietly trying to sell something. We write for the ordinary reader who saw a breach alert, heard a news story or got curious, and wants a straight answer.
Editorial rules
- No onion addresses, active or historical. Every guide points to the organization's own official page instead.
- No prices, product lists, vendor names or instructions for buying anything.
- No instructions for fraud, carding, hacking or evading law enforcement.
- Every article cites official documentation or authoritative public sources, linked at the end.
- No invented statistics, dates, quotes or organizations. Where figures are uncertain we say so.
- Calm tone. Anonymity is never promised. Nothing here is legal advice.
How articles are structured
Each guide matches one search intent, opens with the direct answer, and then explains the mechanism. One section in every article is a context layer that summarizes what Tor Project documentation, court records, law-enforcement announcements and academic research say about the topic, and what that means for you in practice.
Design
The interface borrows from Tor Browser: the purple and green palette, the tab strip and the address bar with its onion icon. The 3D onion on the home page is a nod to the layered encryption the network is named for.
